About

ZenZone: Empowering Gen Z with Seven Types of Rest is a project co-funded by European Union which aims to help young people (aged 15-19) balance their digital and offline lives using the 7 Types of Rest concept. The project seeks to foster digital resilience and promote mental health among youth belonging to Generation Z, while equipping youth workers with supportive tools to tackle the challenges that youth faces. By implementing this programme, ZenZone strives to help young people reduce digital overload, develop restful hobbies, and enhance their overall well-being in the digital age.

Vision

Our vision is to empower youth to cultivate sustainable well-being practices by incorporating the 7 Types of Rest. Through fostering digital resilience and promoting mental health practices, ZenZone prepares youth to navigate the challenges of the digital age while enhancing their physical and mental well-being.

Who We Help?

ZenZone project was created with two target groups in mind:

  • young people (aged 15-19) belonging to Generation Z who face challenges because of digital overload and lack of access to educational materials and opportunities that address mental and physical well-being and encourage restful hobbies;
  • youth workers and youth leaders who strive to make a change and want to help youth identify the challenges they face and learn how to enhance their well-being.

Why We Are Doing This?

In an increasingly digital world, Generation Z faces unprecedented levels of screen time, which significantly impacts their mental health. Various research indicates that continuous digital exposure leads to burnout, anxiety, and a lack of restful activities, especially among young people. Moreover, this digital overload disproportionately affects disadvantaged young people who lack access to resources promoting mental well-being and the lack of restful hobbies also intensifies the issue. ZenZone addresses the urgent need for mental health support and digital balance among youth and promotes social equity by helping disadvantaged young people develop resilience in a digital world.

Solution

ZenZone addresses these issues by delivering a comprehensive programme to help young people integrate offline well-being practices into their lives. The project promotes the 7 Types of Rest (physical, mental, emotional, sensory, creative, social, and spiritual), a holistic approach that encourages balance, reduces digital overload, and improves mental health. The project will provide young people with practical tools to disconnect from digital stressors, promoting the development of restful hobbies that enhance mental and emotional resilience. Youth workers will also be trained through a structured training programme to support young people in cultivating sustainable offline practices. ZenZone’s dual-layer approach focuses on direct education for young people while simultaneously equipping youth workers with methodologies and tools to promote mental well-being. This ensures that the project’s impact reaches youth from diverse backgrounds, particularly those facing digital overload and mental health challenges.

This project is supported by the Erasmus+ program.
